Write for Psychedelic Overground
While I don’t need more writers at this time, I’m always on the lookout for freelance writers & copywriters who can craft authentic and accurate psychedelic content that fires the imagination and articulates the voice of brands that choose to work with us. So, are you passionate about topics such as psychedelic integration, retreats, or education?
As with many psychedelic jobs, this will be largely intermittent contracting/subcontracting for the foreseeable future. But I’m hoping this work will become more regular over time.
If you think you have what it takes to create blog posts, website copy, educational materials, or press releases for psychedelic organisations, let’s talk!
What I’m looking for:
-
You don’t necessarily need to have paid or professional writing experience (though I will look favourably on it if you do.) But you will need to produce work free of grammatical and typographic errors and understand what makes a piece of writing create specific emotional responses in readers.
-
You must have at least some personal experience with psychedelics, entheogens, or plant medicines. Experience of altered states from practices such as breathwork, meditation, or lucid dreaming will also be helpful. This experience is necessary if you are to write authentically about psychedelics.
-
I try to build contingencies into all deadlines I agree to with clients. But, in the end, they need what they are paying for within the timeframe our agreement specifies. I understand that life doesn’t always allow this. If you can’t meet a deadline, all I ask is that you let me know ASAP.
What I can offer:
-
I'm aiming to pay my subcontractors around 70% of what I can negotiate from clients. Precisely what these rates are will vary from one client to the next, but the better our writing is, and the more in-demand our services are, the more we all get paid.
-
Even though for the foreseeable future, you’d be a subcontractor rather than an employee, I’ll try to make our working relationship as good as possible. I’m a long-time union member and take worker’s rights very seriously. The people I’ve freelanced for have treated me very well, and I intend on paying this forward to the best of my ability. As with many psychedelic jobs, I can’t offer much work security, but I’m hoping over time, this will change.

Get in contact here!
As I said, I’m not looking for writers currently. But if you’d like to be considered for future opportunities, please reach out. Tell me a bit about yourself and how you became interested in psychedelics. Please include three of your best pieces of writing as either links or attachments. At least one of these pieces must be about psychedelics or a psychedelic experience you’ve had. I will try to reply to all messages ASAP, but if I’m very busy this may take up to a week, so please be patient.
